DJI RSC 2 review: Unboxing, features, new features

10 November 2020 by Adrienn Kerekes 0 Comments

In this article about DJI RSC 2, we introduce the new DJI RSC 2 gimbal, which includes all the major features and major upgrades since its predecessor, the DJI Ronin-SC. We also unbox the DJI RSC 2 to show you everything that comes with this foldable camera gombal.

DJI RSC 2: What's in the Box?

Here is a list of all the parts that come with the DJI RSC 2 box.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF DJI RSC 22

Foldable with six configurations

The DJI RSC 2 is the first in the DJI Ronin series to introduce a foldable design. It provides six different designs: vertical, suspended, briefcase, flash, portrait and storage. These assemblies not only provide more diverse shooting options, but also ensure that the device remains compact for easy storage and transport.

3 kg max. payload
At an ultra-light 1.2 kg, the DJI RSC 2 is one of the lightest professional-level camera stabilizers available. It is strong enough to hold up to 3 kg max. also cope with a tested payload. This allows users to mount much larger, more advanced and professional camera setups.

1 inch OLED screen
One of the great new features of the DJI RSC 2 is the 1-inch OLED screen, which is used to control the functions and parameters of the device and the mounted camera. With other gimbal devices, users often need to sync with an app to control parameters and functions on their mobile device. With the DJI RSC 2, there is no need for this step, users just need to focus on getting the perfect shot.

Titan stabilization algorithm
DJI RSC 2 introduces the new Titan stabilization algorithm, which enables smoother shots than ever before. There's also a stabilization option called SuperSmooth, which evens out even the smallest jerks and movements. It helps stabilize shots even when using zoom lenses.

MORE DJI RSC 2 FUNCTIONS

ActiveTrack 3.0
DJI RSC 2 features ActiveTrack 3.0, which is the most advanced tracking technology among DJI gimbals available today. ActiveTrack 3.0 provides more sophisticated tracking, so you can easily follow a fast-moving object or a high-speed scene.

Quick switch to vertical recording
DJI RSC 2 has a new feature that allows users to instantly switch to portrait mode for social media content or other creative applications.

Double-layer camera mounting plate (Manfrotto + Arca)
The Manfrotto + Arca Dual Layer Camera Mount Plate is compatible with most popular brands.

Timelapse
The DJI RSC 2 has a timelapse mode that helps you capture the passage of time with ease.

Roll 360
This DJI RSC 2 feature allows you to rotate the camera for a special rotating shot.

Panorama
With the DJI RSC 2, you can also take crystal-clear panoramic shots.

14 hours of battery life
Thanks to the advanced battery of the DJI RSC 2, users have less time to charge their device, which provides 14 hours of operating time and supports fast charging.

DJI RSC 2 vs DJI Pro Combo

The DJI RSC 2 can be purchased in two versions: one is the DJI RSC 2 and the other is the DJI RSC 2 Pro Combo. While the standalone version has everything you need to get started, the DJI RSC 2 Pro Combo offers some incredible extras to take your content to the next level.

The examples below list some of the key features found in the Pro Combo that you won't get when you buy a standalone DJI RSC 2.

RavenEye
The RavenEye system enables live feed and is a prerequisite for ActiveTrack 3.0, which streams live camera feed directly to the DJI Ronin app. This system allows remote control of the gimbal using the Force Mobile.

Carrying bag
A redesigned, lightweight carrying case that securely stores the DJI RSC 2 and accessories in separate compartments.

Handle / tripod
The handle / tripod is connected to the battery of Ronin series one-handed gimbals, which makes it more convenient to hold, unfolded and holds the gimbal vertically on a flat surface as a tripod.

Phone case
Securely attaches your smartphone to ActiveTrack 3.0, Force Mobile or monitoring. Equipped with flash mount port, NATO port and 1/4"-20 threaded hole, the phone holder can be gripped around horizontal and vertical axes for convenient tracking.

Focus motor and gear belt
For an enhanced focusing experience with the DJI RSC 2, the Pro Combo includes the focus motor, focus motor rod mount kit, and lanyard. The Ronin focus motor uses a front dial to control focus, aperture and zoom. The Ronin sprocket is a must-have component for using the focus motor, which allows the motor to rotate the focus ring of the lenses. It is compatible with a wide range of lenses available on the market and the length can be adjusted for different lens diameters.

Who is the DJI RSC 2 made for?
The DJI RSC 2 is capable of delivering professional, studio-quality results to industry professionals with complete confidence. With its low cost and portability, it is also a perfect choice for amateur filmmakers and content creators. What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularized in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humor and the like).
